The following letter informs me that this large local bank was canceling my account because I would not sacrifice my principals of demanding privacy — and neither should you.

Dear Mr. Elliott Shaikin:
Thank you for your account. Based upon your statement 'I
don't sign anything under the penalty of perjury', enclosed you
will find a cashier's check in the amount of Eight Thousand
($8,000). The bank recognizes and respects your opinion;
however, it is diametrically opposite of the Bank's that the
documents must not be altered. Your beliefs and concerns
conflict with the Bank's requirements and this respectfully
requires it to disengage from the relationship.
